Practice

Daymark is a design-based practice; our restless approach to the boundless opportunities of architecture puts us at the cutting edge of residential design. Every space is site-specific and individually based with a goal to produce architecture that lives in harmony with its surroundings.

Our designs are minimal and sophisticated, taking inspiration from our roots here in Canada, from rustic Northern Ontario to the windswept shores of our East Coast. Combining natural materials in a contemporary form with traditional building techniques, our projects deliver eye catching results and manifest a feeling of ‘home’.

We take satisfaction in developing innovative solutions that embody and express our clients’ aspirations in built form.

Philosophy

Daymark’s ethos is to create modern architecture with distinctive and lasting qualities that contribute to the enrichment of inhabitant’s lives and local community with a net-positive effect on the built-environment. We believe in accomplishing this with a measured and meticulous response to details that support ideas. Partnering with individuals and institutions that share our values and are willing to collaborate assists us with achieving unique and personalized solutions.

In late 2015, Adrian established Daymark in the small town of Midland, Ontario. Originating as a railway and shipping community for Southern Ontario, this quiet town sits at the midway point between the Golden Horseshoe and Muskokas. His goal was to build a firm with a focus on residential architecture that is sustainable, technically detailed, and visually stunning, creating enduring Canadian homes for Ontario residents.

The Daymark office, an extension of Adrian’s personality, is a warm and cozy space that continually evolves, adorned with art, music and architecture, which are the grounding inspiration that drives each of his designs.
